New Plymouth Branch celebrates

StMarys

21 - 22 November 2009

The New Plymouth Branch turns 40 years of age in November 2009, being one of the earlier branches of the Society. The first meeting was held at the Orange Lodge Hall at 7.30 pm on 20 November 1969.

To celebrate this occasion, a weekend of events is being held. On Saturday 21 November, the Genealogy Open Day will be held with displays and lectures at St Mary's Hall, Vivian Street, followed by a celebratory dinner that evening.

On Sunday, we will open our branch library for research and discussions. We are pleased to advise that the well-known genealogist, Jan Gow will be our guest presenter for the weekend, with her wealth of knowledge. In addition, Robyn Williams, NZSG Life Member will represent NZSG and speak at the Anniversary Dinner.
